Principal AI Research Scientist

About The Role

BoomTax is seeking a Principal AI Research Scientist to spearhead our efforts in automating fiscal compliance. In this role, you will go beyond simple RAG implementations. You will fine-tune open-weights models (Llama, Mistral) on our proprietary dataset of tax regulations and filing scenarios to create agents capable of navigating ambiguity with high precision.

What You'll Do

• Lead the architectural design of our Compliance reasoning engine.
• Develop evaluation frameworks to benchmark agent performance against federal guidelines.
• Optimize inference costs while maintaining high token throughput for real-time applications.
• Collaborate with product engineering to deploy models into our .NET production environment.

Requirements

• PhD in Computer Science, AI, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of experience in Machine Learning, with significant focus on NLP.
• Demonstrated ability to fine-tune and align LLMs (RLHF, DPO).
• Strong publication record or portfolio of open-source contributions.
